Quel match référence des lyonnais. Une entame de match à la hauteur malgré une très très grosse intensité mise par les rennais avec un pressing très haut. Le fait de casser les lignes 2-3 fois très tôt en trouvant openda qui venait décrocher pour jouer en remise à un des milieux afin de permettre à l’équipe de se projeter rapidement a donné le ton et déstabilisé cette équipe rennaise. Une équipe bien en place défensivement, cherchant à récupérer le ballon le plus haut possible avec une grosse densité axe, afin de forcer les rennais à écarter sur leur latéraux et ainsi venir les chercher avec les 2 milieux sur les ailes (Bidstrup ou Tolisso) pour exploser vers l’avant à la récupération. Ce fut notamment possible grâce à la structure en 4-2-2-2 (selon si Sulc écartait sur un côté avec bidstrup ou bien tolisso à l’opposé, laissant Nuamah et Openda devant et Morton + un des 2 milieux en troisième rideau) ou bien en 4-3-3, qui a toujours permis la supériorité dans l’axe, obligeant les rennais à jouer sur les latéraux. Match patron d’Openda qui a récupéré un nombre incalculable de ballons.
