Bookd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Bookd mobile app and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use them.
1. Information we collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, username, and optionally a profile photo.
User content: We collect content you create on Bookd, including match reviews, ratings, comments, discussion messages, and lists.
Usage data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with Bookd, including pages viewed, features used, and device information (device type, operating system, and app or browser version).
Favourite teams and leagues: We store your selected favourite teams and followed leagues to personalise your experience.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the Bookd app and website
- To personalise your experience (e.g. showing relevant matches and content)
- To display your reviews, ratings, and comments to other users
- To send you notifications about match activity, new followers, and interactions with your content
- To moderate content and enforce our community guidelines
- To improve and develop new features
3. Information sharing
Your profile information (display name, username, avatar, favourite teams) and your content (reviews, ratings, comments, lists) are visible to other people on Bookd.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share information with:
- Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and cloud functions. See the Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase servers. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication.
5. Your rights
- Access: You can view your personal data on Bookd at any time.
- Update: You can update your profile information, display name, and avatar in your Bookd settings.
- Delete: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Block: You can block other users to prevent them from interacting with your content.
6. Push notifications
With your consent, we send push notifications for match updates, new followers, likes, comments, and other activity. You can disable them at any time in your device settings or in the app.
7. Third-party services
- Firebase Authentication: For account creation and sign-in
- Firebase Cloud Firestore: For data storage
- Firebase Cloud Storage: For media uploads
- Expo Push Notifications: For delivering notifications to the mobile app
8. Children’s privacy
Bookd is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or submit any personal information to us.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@bookdfootball.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes on Bookd or by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Bookd after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
