Winless Spurs look to Burst Toffees' Perfect Start

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes home to a Gameweek 3 tussle with Everton this Saturday. It's been a toothless start for Tottenham as they are still on the hunt for their first victory of the Premier League season. A -5 GD has them rooted all the way down to 18th level with Aston Villa. Their sole point came last week in a scoreless affair with Nott'm Forest. Their first 0-0 since New Year's Day 2026 against Brentford. In the losses department, a 3-0 defeat in the opening weekend against Brentford and a closer 2-0 defeat the following week to Newcastle has them goalless after three. However Charlton handed them a morale-lifting result as Tottenham Hotspur ran them over 5-1. Moore, Solanke, Danso, Savio and Davies all etched their names as tied top scorers for the Lilywhite with no one yet to score two. Despite not making an appearance against Nottingham Forest, Tosin has made the photos in training, potentially putting his name in those for availability after the loan to buy of Danso to Sunderland on Deadline Day. Kulusevski has made a swift return to the sidelines, not being seen in training despite his announcement of his full training return. Everton's start sees them fly to 8th, tied all the way to 5th. Its an unbeaten beginning for the Toffees although only one win in the league, that coming in the opening weekend against Sage's Palace side. Two late rescues have shown their vulnerability as they left the Bournemouth 1-1 result to the 91st minute as newly appointed captain James Tarkowski drew them level. It was a thriller with Manchester United where a thunderstrike had Ainsley Maitland-Niles strike on his Hill Dickinson Stadium debut in the 96th minute to tie the Red Devils to a 2-2 away trip in Merseyside. In the Carabao Cup, Moyes' men met with Preston North End at Deepdale where a hat-trick from Thierno Barry and a single goal for newcomer Brennan Johnson sentenced PNE to elimination. Barry leads the scoring tally for the Toffees with 4 goals in all competitions. Christian Nørgaard and James Garner's unavailability are expected to be addressed in David Moyes' upcoming press conference on Friday. Will Tottenham begin a roll of points gained or are Everton going to continue their fast ascent?

Tottenham vs Everton is matchday 4 of Premier League 2026/27. Tottenham sit 18th in the table, while Everton sit 8th.
