Forest vs Cov. A bitter Midlands rivalry with plenty of moments and memories over the years. This is the first time they have met in the top flight since January 1999, where Coventry were 4-0 victors at the old Highfield Road. A fair share of Championship games have taken place since, but nothing will mean more than bragging rights and three points in the Premier League today. Nottingham Forest found their first win of the season in a hard fought victory at Villa Park last week. Liam Delap opened his account for the Reds via a lovely strike from 25 yards, with Igor Jesus finding a late winner with his only action of the game. Oliver Glasner was very pleased with the performance and three points, which he will be looking to bring that momentum into this game and kickstart Forest's season. Star man Morgan Gibbs-White was not called up to the England team for their Nations League games, a shocking bit of news considering he has been so consistent for many seasons now. Although, their injury list already consists of Nikola Milenković, Nicolò Savona and Jair Cunha, so perhaps Gibbs-White's omission can be viewed as a bullet dodged in retrospect. There is also some more positive news, with Ibrahim Sangaré getting a few minutes off the bench at Villa Park, after Glasner had previously raised concerns over the Ivorian midfielder's fitness. Coventry City, meanwhile, have endured a woeful start to the season, losing five of their first six in all competitions, a 4-2 win at Plymouth in the Carabao Cup 2nd Round being their only victory. Losing back to back home games is not a good look for Frank Lampard's side, 0-5 last weekend to Brighton and 1-3 in midweek to another Midlands rival, Aston Villa. Not much fight was shown in either match, if there is one positive Coventry can take, it is that their only win of the campaign came on the road. Their supporters will also be travelling to the City Ground in numbers, hoping their noise can lift the players and provide the spark they desperately need. But the big question for Coventry is: will it be enough? How are they going to find a way to stay in the Premier League, with so little confidence early on? Only Frank Lampard knows the answers, which he has little time to find the solutions, because you don't get time in the Premier League. More dampening news for Coventry is unfortunate additions to their ever-growing injury list. Both Frank Onyeka and Ellis Simms have suffered with knocks in midweek, meaning they join Haji Wright, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles and Kaine Kesler-Hayden on the sidelines. Former Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi still remains suspended, meaning Coventry are extremely thin in most areas of the pitch. They really need some fortune, what a time and place it would be if they found a result in Nottingham. In the last 5 fixtures between these two sides Forest have been very dominant, winning four of those games and Coventry only winning one. There has only been six draws in the past 24 years between the two clubs, history telling us that there is likely only three points to be taken here... Oliver Glasner will be confident to make it two wins in a row and four unbeaten for the Reds, whereas Frank Lampard is looking to get a result to ease the growing, early pressure on him.
