Manchester United travel to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening looking for their first points of the WSL season. Olid now needs a response—not necessarily a victory, but a much more organised and competitive performance. Arsenal have collected four points without quite finding their attacking rhythm. The Gunners’ chance creation remains encouraging, but their finishing has been wasteful—something United will hope to exploit by keeping the contest tight for as long as possible. The teams drew 0–0 at the Emirates in January 2026 despite United playing the final 25 minutes with ten players, while Arsenal edged a dramatic previous league meeting there 4–3 in May 2025. United therefore have reasons to believe they can compete, but they must avoid the defensive hesitation and collapsing confidence that Chelsea punished so ruthlessly. Arsenal should dominate possession, with United looking to counter through Park and Toone and target Terland early. If United survive the opening stages, frustration could grow around the Emirates after Arsenal’s wastefulness against Palace. However, Arsenal’s depth, midfield control and variety in wide areas make them clear favourites against a United team still adapting to Olid’s methods.
