Despite taking an early, Venezia never really looked like they were in the tie. Their defence was mucky despite playing in the most defensive-minded country in Europe, and their attack didn't shine until far too late. Udinese had some problems in their own right, but they were by far the better team in this one. However, with Atalanta being their next opponent in the cup, they will really need to up their game.

A very weak and unexciting game. Despite Udinese's comeback, the match had few truly interesting moments and fell far short of delivering a good spectacle.
