It’s hard to describe the state of absolute bliss and disbelief I was in watching this match. The 2014 World Cup was one of the most important summers, and in fact years, of my life. 12 years later, I still can’t believe it. I almost feel a sense of gratitude and love toward Brazil as a whole, not for this match in particular, but for the whole tournament that became such a source of joy and excitement in my life for so long. Anyway, I bought a Brazil kit this year… 🇩🇪❤️🇧🇷

It’s 2018 and I’m in my first semester at college. My Brazilian friend invites me to a bbq that his family is throwing. Unfortunately for me, all my clothes need to get washed and im left with only one clean shirt: my 2014 Germany kit. I asked him—with the deepest sincerity—if it was okay to wear to the bbq. he looked at me, paused for a moment, and with disappointment in his eyes said, “I’ll just get you another shirt.” Five stars
