one of the best world cup matches. full of drama from start to finish. argentina bottled a 2-0 lead, weghorst brace saves netherlands and goes to extra time, messi cupped his ears celebration at van gaal, the referee handing out yellow cards nonstop, the ball kicked to the dutch bench and led to a brawl with van dijk shove to make it better. after all that, it went to penalties and the netherlands lose. brutal way to go out. at least messi got his revenge.

ugliest match up of the tournament. i remember watching this in my office, breaking down in a cold sweat and ran out of my room and did laps around the atrium after lautaro kicked that high ass penalty. mind you, no one else in my work is a footy fanatic like me so idc if i looked stupid. my entire life was on the line. later that day my boss emailed me “we should all be as passionate as you” and she was dead serious. also gave us the iconic “que miras bobo”
