It was the battle of Stamford Bridge all over again. The game started pretty slow, which is expected when both teams just kinda see what the other does. But the first half truly came alive when Schjelderup scored an absolute screamer, probably meant as a cross but no one will care about that in a week. Bellingham scoring the equalizer felt almost poetic, especially with his goal in extra time as well making it 6 this tournament. I think the second half + extra time was quite enjoyable, it was a very close battle but England were always the ones in control. Which is expected to be honest, I love Norway, I love Haaland, I love Ødegaard, but at the end of the day they do have a weak team and that was gonna cost them eventually. Regardless of that Norway can be incredibly proud of their achievements, they still gave a great fight to the end. Things were expected of Norway but I don’t think most expected them to do this well. England played well; you really noticed the difference when Rice went off at half-time, though. He is so important. It wasn’t flashy from them but none of their games have been, they play the game and get the job done. Konsa deserves a lot of praise for having such a good tournament. Saka played well when he got subbed on too, wonder if he’s gonna start a game finally. 3 of the ‘protected’ teams (France, Spain, England, and Argentina) are in the semifinals now, with Argentina expected to make it 4 out of 4. Interesting i suppose, i generally like that so the 4 best teams can only meet in the semi final, but all of them actually reaching the semi final feels somewhat weird. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want the best teams in this stage of the tournament. Man of the match can only be Bellingham of course, he was incredible and that doesn’t really need any explanation. Do want to say that Konsa is 2nd for me as man of the match, just so great.
