this genuinely hurt me in 50 different ways cuz of how stressed i was for arg i watched this match alone with absolutely no one to celebrate it with BUT ITS FINE I GUESS... during the match i had to update my family on EVERYTHING that was happening, and sooo i remember it PRETTY well okay, egypt scoring first was definitely a kick in the butt, but i thought, "its ok, they got it" omg. messi misses a penalty. now fair cuz penalties arent exactly his thing cuz this weirdo likes shooting from impossible freekicks but still LET ME GIVE KUDOS TO THE EGYPTIAN GOALIE AND DEFENSE MY GOSHHH like i swear they had 4 players on anyone who attempted to score and argentina oh goshhh i swear they missed their shots/were saved by goalie a lot in first half soooo yk naturally i start PANICKING. then.... 2-0. YUP. I WAS MANIFESTING A FRANCE VS ARGENTINA WC FINAL TYPE COMEBACK. goal was disallowed (YES controversial, i think its all the refs fault tho. shouldve called the foul way earlier, but ppl saying that they only reviewed bc egypt scored-- yes, ofc? if licha was dispossessed from the ball from a foul, ofc theyre gonna ask the ref to check it... this "rigged" claim is out of hand sometimes..) anyway, they scored again regardless so 2-0. reading my old messages is lowkey funny tho i had so much faith in such a bad time loll, i said "1 goal every 10 mins" and ykkkk i think it was a pretty good prediction. because... THEY SCROED 3 GOALS. YES. I JUMPED AROUND LIKE A MADMAN. anyway for those who wanna say its rigged, i think a fair share of fouls from both sides were not called. i mean, ziko took off his shirt, no yellow. poor ref, i would say. but dont blame the players/country as a whole, not like they control that. final verdict is that it was a thrilling and heart-attack-inducing match. but it was amazing.
