Atletico put a stake in to make the La Liga title race a three horse race again with this win tonight. They’ve made some strong transfers, and their low-block style while unpopular works to great success. Sevilla didn’t play particularly sloppy but that didn’t mean they weren’t poor. Atleti tore them to shreds in the first half and were unlucky not to add on that. Sevilla improved in the second half, but not by much. They definitely aren’t a team I see getting relegated like the bookmakers did pre-season but they still need plenty of work if they want to be like the team that used to win Europa League titles for fun not so long ago.
