Pulled Lucas gimmick and actually focused on the match for once. Not the result I would’ve wanted per se, but still qualified, and South Korea/Czechia in the knockouts is a winnable fixture. There were a few highlights, Crepeau save followed by Cornellius block was massive, along with a couple decent chances in the first. Unasparational finishing was unfortunate, it’s fine to miss chances but I found it annoying that the shots being attempted never once even troubled the keeper. Nathan Saliba assist to Promise David goal was massive. Saliba has really shown his value since the Kone injury, and was by far our best player today. Promise David is such as a perfect archetype of player to be coming off the bench, absolutely love him. Hope both of them get opportunities in big 5 leagues soon. Outside of this match, I’ve been very impressed with Richie Lareya, Alistair Johnston, and above all Luc de Fougerolles. The absence of Moise Bombito left a gaping hole in our defence, but LDF has managed to fill it brilliantly. Not a world beater today, but in his first 2 starts he didn’t put a single foot wrong. Switzerland played well, fair play to them. Never seen Manzambi play prior to this world cup but wow he is talented. Definitely MOTM (voted for Saliba because Canadian). All in all cautiously optimistic for the knockouts
