Sundowns escape with a late draw, leaving questions for Pušić to exploit.. As an Al-Ahli fan closely monitoring our upcoming Intercontinental Cup opponent, Mamelodi Sundowns' 1-1 draw against Chippa United provided plenty of tactical insights. The match exposed critical vulnerabilities. While coach Cardoso heavily rotated his squad to protect key players from a poor pitch, Sundowns’ backline struggled significantly against quick transitions—leading to Chippa’s shocking 77th-minute opener. Although Sundowns showed elite resilience by snatching a dramatic equalizer in the 98th minute via Van Wyk, their defensive structural gaps are highly encouraging. For Marino Pušić, this game serves as the perfect blueprint: high pressing and exploiting their slow defensive tracking will be key. This draw will definitely wake Sundowns up for next Saturday, but it gives us massive confidence that Al Ahli can break them down in Pretoria
