@olivia I may try next time I have possession of a thicker bread loaf; my only concern stems from a worry that I may get peanut butter on the jelly knife and when I go to get more jelly some peanut butter enters the jelly container
@harris oh that is a real predicament. there is quite a wonderful technique you can adopt where you shake the first serving of jelly off then retrieve more, but it lends to estimated peanut butter and jelly ratios.
@olivia I have not thought of doing this, I will keep this in mind next time I apply jam to bread
@olivia What is your preferred jam brand? I quite like Crofters
@harris unfortunately, i am quite performative and like bonne maman. i also wash out their jars to use as matcha vessels.
@olivia I have remnants of bonne maman left which I purchased from Costco, I'd like to try their non-raspberry flavours but that would require purchasing jars from corporations other than Costco
@harris i have not tried raspberry before. is it good? i have always used their strawberry variant but would love to try others including raspberry and cherry.
@olivia I quite like it, but it's a little bit more tart and less sweet than most other jams; not sure if it'd be great on a pb&j per se but on toast by itself I enjoy it. It also contains seeds which to some people is a deal breaker, but I quite like the texture of. Cherry sounds delicious, I have not had cherry jam in some time, I currently have a jar of Crofters blueberry and the a for mentioned bonne maman raspberry, with a jar of Crofters strawberry I am yet to open.
@harris i quite like a tart jam and the texture of raspberry seeds. i shall give it a try one day. what a wonderful spread of spreads
@olivia They've recently changed the kirkland signature strawberry jam from 1 comically large jar to 2 regularly large jars; I will likely purchase after I run low on my current jam supply
