this was a poetic ending tuchels biggest mistake wasnt subbing gordon, it was trusting reece james to play RWB in 2021 🥀 i think tuchel gambled on playing rogers and bellingham like havertz and mount in 2021, and supporting wingbacks in james and spence. but i was very disappointed in james, very little bravery on the day in terms of intent then he blew out his hammy. theres things to be said about the intensity of england following the goal too, but jury is out whether it was tuchel guiding them to do that or the ghost of southgate I think tuchel panicked with the dan burn sub to try to stop the bleeding, then when they conceded it was a game of catch up to try to stop the situation from spiraling. Tuchel had enough time to have the plan b ready, but he rode the reece james rwb plan into the fucking sunset. he died on his own sword in a way thus ends the legend of thomas tuchel. stubborn in victory and stubborn in defeat

I can't blame James for a poor performance knowing that he was rushed in off injury, this is entirely on Tuchels squad selection
@harris Yeah i get that, it was just poetic that when he needed to have a counter threat on englands right side, he trusted in his day 1 dawg RJ over an actual winger
@harris i didnt really think konsa coming on was a death sentence at first, esp bc RJ is an attacking threat at chelsea too. In a way i felt like the move actually was made to enable reece to move up and put some attacking pressure out right. The first goal came from a long ball to rogers out right, i think reece is more than capable of creating chances like that too, and tuchel would def know his capability
@judge Yeah early 2020s healthy Reece James was probably the 2nd best attacking RB in the league after prime TAA, maybe even top 5 in the world, but I think this putting this much reliance on a player who hasn't played in 2 weeks due to hamstring injury is an absurd decision and really should have been obvious to Tuchel as well
