happy with the game, good rotation and allowed some of our more overworked players over this international break to rest up. starting lineup was definitely reserved but we retained a lot of control over this match. don't think there was ever a point in time where i thought lille were going to score on us or looked massively threatening in the transition. big negative i felt like was gyok, despite having the opportunity to make his stamp in a rare start this season, yet again looked ineffective. it's a bit harsh as i do think the players he was surrounded by don't play to his strengths, and personally i would have liked to see how he performed with a ode and saka combination. still, he needs to show why he should be starting over havertz and again he struggled to win his duels (won 1/5), get involved (12 touches) and do much of anything. thought our lefthand side looked stagnant w/o calafiori. i love MLS, but since he tucks into the midfield he leaves eze out to dry there and it shows that calafiori is so pivotal to our attack. subs came on, looked electric. very very fluid with havertz, saka, and ode together with lots of good combinations. saka finally (again) gets to silence the doubters. jurrien looked wonderful today. not much to do in the backline, but he looked good going forward and got the opening goal. he's combining with our wingers better and all in all very excited to see him back to this level after the injury issues. MOTM for me is honestly declan rice. definitely was between him and jurrien. a game where his performance will definitely be underrated, but he kept things ticking, swept up attacks, recovered well, and basically ensured lille had next to nothing going forward.
