The perpetrators of the largest financial cheating scandal in sports history performed as you’d expect them to, as they attempt to obstruct and disrupt the ongoing legal process to hold them accountable, allowing them to consolidate their footballing power in the meantime in a desperate attempt to mitigate the consequences of their blatant and unashamed cheating. Classless winners, even more sore losers, all around unsportsmanlike, cheating scum. I’ve waited to pass my own judgement on City fans so far, as I expect this would complicate and cloud lots of feelings toward the club for any fans. But with each passing day, they seem to demonstrate total complicity and approval of the massive cheating and fraud their club has perpetrated. Are there a handful of “good ones” out there? Certainly, shoutout @olivia and @der_raumdeuter of course, but I suppose I should have expected nothing less from the plastic supporters of a club like City, run by people with so much ego, and such a blatant disregard for the rules of competition. At every turn, City have believed themselves to be bigger than the league, bigger than the sport, and bigger than any consequences that may come. This arrogance has infected much of the fanbase, which is where my real disappointment lies now. Have you truly no shame at all? How embarrassing… Ultimately, this result is largely meaningless, and that’s the most frustrating and angering part of this whole disgusting mess. Years of our collective lives, years of Premier League competitions, years of football results are simply null. Millions of memories robbed, careers wasted, and clubs punished for the sin of fair play. I’ve never been one to lose my head about rivals, but when you see how important football is to people, to the world, you can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of anger and injustice. City have robbed us of everything football is about, and I pity the kids who’ve grown up and known nothing else. Fuck you, Manchester City

Only decent post I’ve seen about this, however the thing with fans is what do you want us to do except embrace it? That’s absolutely nothing else to do in that sense

@debrandon17 I suppose you’re right, my anger toward the club is spilling over to the fans. It’s not like I can just say “just stop watching football until this is all done” lol, because I’d never expect myself or any other fans to do that. It’s hypocritical of me to expect fans to continue to watch their club, and simultaneously denounce the club in the same breath. But this whole situation is just leaving such a bitter aftertaste…

@emanuel ehhh as much as i agree that fans shouldn’t be expected to just abandon their club, i also can’t ignore the ones bragging about cheating yesterday 👀👀 it’s actually disgusting so i think u had a point in the og review 🙁💔

@bewxtchdd To be fair the only fans who were here before the cheating are 55-60 prolly and doesn’t make a large part of the population of city fans in the stadium

I don’t mean this as hate to the people I tagged, in fact I can untag you if you want lol. I respect the fact that this is an obviously difficult thing to support a club through, and I don’t blame any City fans for whatever way they express their support through this. Truthfully, I have no idea how I’d react either if I found out my club had been lying to the fans at this kind of scale, so it’s no hate at all. It’s the blind support and complete approval of the cheating that angers me.

@emanuel I don’t know about all this. There’s so much to say, and so much to feel, and it has to be spoken about somehow. I think, in retrospect, this whole scandal will have been a major testing point for football and the Premier League, and how we navigate this now will have VERY long-lasting effects. I feel as powerless as any of you, but I still encourage anyone to just be open and candid about how they feel about this, or their thoughts on what should be done. Thanks for reading lol
