I’d be worried if I was a Spurs fan. Yeah they got a goal back, but most of their threats came from set-piece situations. You can’t be paying De Zerbi this much and spending the GDP of a small country to play like Nuno’s West Ham at Anfield. Fernandes improves the team overall, but Tel and Marmoush are some of the worst footballers I’ve seen play the game. For the neutral, class game. Rain, under the lights, Spurs are Spurs, and a screamer from the Liverpool #8. For Liverpool, the concern comes from the fact that you have an asset like Gravenberch rotting on your bench. He doesn’t even look Liga de Acenso MX standard. Szoboszlai keeps being the worst and best player, so he’s worth keeping around. The McConnell and Koumas two-man showed the movement of two kids who were taught by Klopp, and I hope we see them in the league soon. Macca was a class above everyone on the pitch, and I felt like the result was never in doubt as long as he stayed on. Top 10 CMs in the world for me. Renew his deal. Also, average Mama game:

@rafadinhoforlahm marmoush performed exceptionally at frankfurt when he had someone like ekitike with him, so that while he made runs and stretched the defense ekitike could link overall play. unfortunately, he doesn’t have that right now with gallaher behind him and it plays into a bigger theme of lack of creativity and penetration during those final third moments 1/2
@tligoat de spursy still doesn’t look like he knows what his best midfield trio looks like, and with his tactics revolving around playing through the midfield/press, i think these profiles don’t work well at all. xavi’s return should help but man. i’ve seen the sentiment “we look like the better team” from spurs fans constantly, but ooohs and aaahs don’t win you the game. they are consistently missing that final pass, touch, shot, etc
@tligoat mate I’ve been giving it a thought, and I think I’d give it to Dyche or Koeman if this doesn’t work - Spurs fans will hate it because they want their team playing good football, but you need three solid seasons of 7th place sludge before learning how to fly again, play a 442 with Tel Solanke or Marmoush up top, Kudus and Gallagher on the wings, and just Brexit ball it
