It’s easy to look at this game as an Ecuador fan and feel disappointment with how a team with so much talent has been mismanaged, the drop off in quality between defense and attack, or the fact we have 1 point out of 6 and are facing elimination. All that aside however, I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. To the Curaçao fans, you guys were amazing. It feels like not so long ago, we were in the same position. A small nation that most people don’t know much about making their first World Cup appearance. The fact that we even have the weight of expectation today is an honor. To my dad, Happy Father’s day. You came to this country as a teenager with nothing but a dollar and a dream and you gave us a life. You are the epitome of of what makes this country great and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to pay you back in such a small way. Congratulations Curaçao. We still have one more game, let’s give it all we got!
