Once again we got pecked by the seagulls it’s genuinely so impressive how they just tactically countered everything Arteta had they were perfect everyone in the squad is mad as hell of course and rice crashed out and tackled someone after the full time whistle we lost our composure completely and the most important thing that needs to change after this game is Arteta needs to stop underestimating Brighton and change the tactics completely against them specifically because they literally know our every single move now

Brighton, and specifically Fabian Hürzeler I think, are really good at counter-tactics. They’re obviously a decent team, but the reason they manage to get scalps like this is because they don’t rely on a consistent identity and approach to games, instead they’re very adaptable, and go into matches against big teams with a plan about how to specifically counter that team. It’s a great strategy for a mid-table club, and they pulled it off perfectly today. Arteta needs to anticipate it next time.

@vagi I usually love great examples of pure counter-play as well. Obviously not against us, but I still respect it a hell of a lot. It’s really cool when you figure out how to counter someone else’s strategy, even if you’re not as good on paper. Good for Brighton
