@sammy (allow it for the gimmick) I’ll watch the highlights later, but how did Gyok play? Surely he’ll need to make the most of Europe, given Havertz is the main guy.

@rafadinhoforlahm gyokeres was… gyokeres. it felt like we were playing without a striker and there’s was only once chance he tried taking an advantage of. game freed up after havertz but i still think even with gyokeres we could’ve had a high scoring game. also how was wirtz?

@sammy Wirtz was better. An improvement on Ipswich, he’s okay, but for the price we need him doing more. I feel like he goes missing yet he was doing orchestrating most of the attacks in the second half. He’s a weird player, and ultimately we’ll play well when he plays well. I don’t like having him and Szobo playing together, but they seemed to connect really well by the second half.

@sammy I watched the highlights and he just seems so clunky, even Merino was taking up better positions than him. Tzolis looks a hit, and Madueke looked fine, reminds me of a raw Barcola. The best thing he can do is go to a club like Leeds and develop. Arteta needs to manage Rice though, you can’t be having him sprint up and down Naples all night for an early morning Sunderland trip this weekend.

@rafadinhoforlahm ohhh okay that’s interesting. yeah wirtz seems to not be as flashy on the ball now which is a change from leverkusen but if he can figure out how to have “silent” contributions (like passing accuracy, line breaking passing, spotting runners etc) while not appearing like he’s doing much it can definitely work out, i can see him getting a lot of assists in the future in a way.
