Croatia
Spainjust realised i haven’t written my review of this match, so here it is. the match was alright, nothing special happened aside from spain “almost” losing their winning streak. during the second half, i doubted that croatia would win, even tho croatia was very determined not to allow another disaster after the england match. spain was playing much better, but it wasn’t their full potential. that made me think about the tournament and the number of games in the span of 3 weeks. yeah, thank god the international break is over. yet there’s a problem i think we need to address, the intensity of the matches and how tight the schedule was for players. just look at it: games usually started around 9 pm and lasted till 11 pm. then the team had to change, etc., then the airport OR they went to sleep - yet not for long, since they had to travel the following morning. “recovery” time, then training, and another game. all of this, while also keeping in mind that the club games are coming back soon, and with that, ucl matches. we just witnessed messi’s heartbreaking farewell at the age of 39. modric is still playing at 41, lewy is still playing at 38. and this is impressive as hell, but idk, i can’t shake the feeling that it won’t happen again. players are playing with such an intensity we’ve never seen before, their bodies are being exploited beyond limits. we can already see how tired spanish players were, and it’s not like they’re really old by football standards. how about pau cubarsi? he plays all the time, and he of course delivers, but for how long? idk it seems just wrong to me. all of this yapping aside, bookd chat carried the game as always. ily oomfs.

took the words right out my mouth leonia !!😭 this also reminded me of something i wanna add, which is the fact that the next world cup is expected to be hosted in three diffrent countries again, and because it's also the 100th year of the wc, the opening matches will be held in another three entirely different countries an entire ocean over from the hosts making that 6.i can't even imagine being a football player and risking jet lag stress etc etc with all that plus the training and more😭😭😭😭
@musialacademiks so i totally agree with what you wrote, these guys must be OVERLYY tired, so atp i don't even mind if they didnt play their best in this game now that i think about it because there's probably so much going on already with travels, clubs ucls etc😭
I just keep on thinking of Pedri when discussing this topic. But very valid!!
Yeah the players are definitely being pushed way too hard. I hope that won't result in any injuries or negative effects in the long term. Not to mention the pressure from the fans and the media to perform perfectly every time so there's a mental toll in addition to their bodies already being over stressed. At the end of the day these are just games the important things are the players. They deserve proper rest I hope they're taking good care of both their mental and physical health.
I think these footballers can do the whole 9 yards. I see a player like pau making it to 37-39 (disregarding carrer ending injuries ofc) we have such insane medical advancements and they will only get better. Its okay for them to be a exhausted now, i like to think it’ll only build endurance. nie trać nadziei😊😊😊
