Denmark needed a win and Japan needed a draw and somehow that setup produced one of the most quietly devastating group exits in recent memory 2 free kicks Honda filed one into the top corner like he’s Ronaldo in Manchester then Endo stepped up thirteen minutes later and went “hold up my turn” Denmark then spent an hour hitting crossbars and missing gaping goals and watching Tomasson bottle a penalty before sheepishly tapping in the rebound mate the goal was RIGHT THERE 2-1 at 81 genuine hope flickering Then Honda did a sexy backheel turn in the box (absolute baller) and rolled Okazaki in to end it Japan deserved every bit of this Narrative: 4 Tactics: 3 Chances: 3.5 Goals: 4 Comeback: 2.5 Drama: 4 4/5
