We were extremely wasteful of opportunities in the first half and it came back to bite us. We completely dominated the first half and came out of half completely flat. Augsburg had 3 amazing strikes to the corner and far sides of the net. so I can’t blame Atu for much besides the 2nd goal allowed in which he failed to catch the ball and it subsequently bounced to the attacker next to him The backline still sucks but I am very hopeful that it’s possibly just a team cohesion issue as we have 3 new starters on the backline and 6-8 new starters depending on what lineup we choose. In Hütter’s first stint we started 1-1-3 and finished 7th that year, though I was never necessarily a huge fan of the rehire anyway; however his system is very exciting. Hopefully the winter window brings us a bountiful harvest as all we didn’t do too much in the summer per our plans; This team has shown great offensive potential but the backline needs to gel and help out Atu like they did in the first half where he faced 0 SOG. xG was roughly 2.6-1.8 in favor of Eintracht.
