The CWC might have huge quality gaps between teams and a lot of other issues, but what happens when there’s an all or nothing game between two teams that both have to win while also keeping an eye on goal difference? In the blue corner was a top European side going through a crisis. In the red corner was Africa’s biggest club, also dealing with a crisis and a coaching change. An attacking game full of nonstop action. Defences were all over the place, goalkeeping mistakes, and the goals just kept coming. The standout performer was current Columbus Crew striker Wessam Abou Ali, who scored a hat trick for Al Ahly. Mora and Samu Aghehowa stood out for Porto too. There were also bangers from Ben Romdhane and William Gomes. The Cairo Giants were the better side and missed multiple huge chances near the end to extend their lead. Porto equalized late to make it 4-4. Eliminating both. A hidden classic with bangers, individual brilliance, all out attacking football and a late equalizer.
