Twente hosts league leaders PSV at De Grolsch Veste.
While Twente started the season with a loss away against Heerenveen (1-0), they haven’t lost a game in the Eredivisie since. Currently, they are tied in 4th place together with Ajax, after the club from Enschede comfortably beat ADO (2-0) last week. Weghorst has been their best player so far; the veteran striker has three goals and an assist in the first six Eredivisie matches. Despite the doubts fans had when he came over for free from Ajax, he has shown his worth with goals already. Younes Taha and Sondre Ørjasæter have both also been incredibly important with their technical individual ability.
PSV will want to go into the international break as league leaders. The reigning champions are tied for 1st place with AZ, but due to their superior goal difference they find themselves on top. They have scored a shocking 19 times in their last five games; though they have also yet to keep a clean sheet since April. Sergiño Dest has been incredibly important for PSV since his return from injury; the right wing-back has two goals and two assists in just five matches. Another player who has been vital for the team is Kodai Sano. The Japanese midfielder joined relatively late in the window from NEC, but he has immediately shown his ability in the midfield.
PSV has the history for this fixture, having won all eight of their last meetings against Twente, but anything can happen in the Eredivisie.
Twente 3-2 PSV Eindhoven was played on matchday 7 of Eredivisie 2026/27. Twente sit 4th in the table, while PSV Eindhoven sit 3rd.
