What looked like a walk in the park initially became a very fun game. Chelsea looked very good again, but Brighton wasn’t bad either. Kept a lot of pressure on Chelsea throughout the game, held so much possession too which is a little surprising considering Chelsea have so much technical ability so keeping the ball is surely the better thing to do. Chelsea were just deadly when they did have the ball. Incredibly strong counter attacking display with direct passes and no fucking around. Pedro Neto played well, probably the best player on Chelsea’s side? Hato and Rogers looked incredible as well though. Good debut for Martinez, surprised he already started but hes so much better than Robert Sanchez. For Brighton i really liked Malick Junior Yalcouyé, what a player he is already. Verbruggen had a shocker today, suppose hes only consistent when playing for his beautiful country.

Chelsea

picture definitely unrelated i’m mostly being salty since chelsea seem really solid this match (even neto scored) but brighton nearly came back in that second half. i think the biggest issue for chelsea this season will be their lack of possession but they did pretty well today off the ball so it could go under the radar. i would say they’ve defensively shaped up a lot but simultaneously they did concede 3 goals so even if they’re better it’s still not where i presume xabi alonso wants it to be. their midfield definitely missed caicedo too, i think it’ll be worrying that he was out last match for injury and now had to be taken off the pitch after 20 minutes (as well as lavia still not completing a full 90). i’ve mostly been talking about chelsea but brighton impressed me a lot. i think once they realised you can’t keep crossing the ball right into where lacroix is stood they improved. their defence clearly misses van hecke but i think they’re managing somewhat well so they should be able to handle teams that are weaker attacking wise. overall, this match has made me believe (unless they drop off in december) that chelsea will be in the title race since they don’t have european competitions to worry about too which is not very good for us.

Chelsea

Great game, Chelsea's attack looks absolutely lethal, but it's the complete opposite at the other end of the pitch. Still leaking goals even with a new GK, in Emi Martinez. I think Xabi Alonso still had has a lot of work to do in defence if Chelsea want to be title challengers, he's got it nailed on in attack though with that front 3 of Palmer, Pedro and Rogers. I hope Rogers does well at Chelsea, 2/2 good games so far for him. The thing I warn Chelsea fans about is he's very much a purple patch player. At Villa he didn't turn up often when the going got tough, but he is absolutely a quality player when he has confidence and form. Hopefully he can change that and consistently turn up with a much better attacking line than he had at us. For Brighton, I think they'll be top of the mid table group this season. Not a good defensive performance whatsoever. They weren't that convincing defensively against Villa, it was only the fact that we had no striker that mainly cost us, otherwise we could've been 1 or 2 up in the first half. They are in a similar situation to Chelsea, great attack especially with Yalcouyé coming in, he looks sharp. But I just think the super attacking fullbacks and the slowness of Dunk x Vuskovic will cost them too many goals this season, mixed with European Balance, I don't see them getting in another European spot this season. However, I do believe they will win the Conference League, so that will get them Europa League nonetheless. MOTM is between Palmer or Rogers, went for Rogers as Palmer got it against Fulham. Sharing is caring!

Chelsea

Chelsea’s first half made me appreciate those big egos in Madrid 😭😭

Chelsea
“dad, why is my sister named rose?” “because your mother loves roses” “thanks dad” “you’re welcome, cole palmer in the premier league”

Chelsea

Chelsea looking quite dangerous

Chelsea

If you’re a fan of goal fests, this was the game for you. An early runner for game of the season had both teams playing with their hearts and pride on the line. The first half had Chelsea cruising through the game until a great volley got one back for Brighton. Brighton kept the fight going in the second half getting a goal back until Palmer scored a fantastic long-range effort to win the game. Brighton got a consolation with the last attack of the game to cap off what was something truly special to watch. Chelsea, despite having conceded five goals in their first two games, still look strong. Their attack is bubbling to be one of the best in the league with Palmer, Rogers, Pedro and Neto all putting work in. Martinez doesn’t have much go blame himself for in the goals he conceded, and I still believe he’s the player they need to place themselves as title hopefuls.

I prefer not to speak. Anyways, we are just so good at creating chances and so bad at defending and keeping possession. Feel like ill be saying that alot this season but if our attacks that good i have no complaints. 3 points is 3 points. Cant analyse shit if its just a goalfest every time. Shoutout Dibu. PS. Yalcouye im onto you.
