not to be biased or anything, but this was the match to watch tonight. proper championship football. both teams desperate for all 3 points and you had no idea which way it was going bolton were unlucky not to get anything. they look like a solid team. based on those 90 minutes, i don’t think they’ll be in danger of going straight back down as long as they build on their defence, which was ultimately their downfall in this case given all of the noise outside of the club over the last few weeks, i think we played brilliantly. conceding after 25 seconds was ridiculous, but the way we fought back immediately after both goals was admirable hard to choose between cooper and donovan for POTM so just pretend they’re both there… onto saturday, first game of the season i’ll be attending! please don’t embarrass me bladesmen 🙏

only joined at about the hour mark (sheff utd is like the club equivalent of having a side chick, a girlfriend (al hilal) and a wife (arsenal) to me) but what an entertaining last 30 minutes it was. sheffield united equalising, conceding again to give bolton the lead and then coming back thanks to an insane strike by donovan 2 minutes before the whistle was blown. the defence cleaned up their act towards the end with the whole team contributing to clear the ball and get it out of their third but credit to bolton wanderers for putting up a great fight. first 3 points of the season so this clearly means we’re on the road to winning the championship/getting promoted ❤️‍🩹

They scored a smart reaction goal during the Butty song, we scored straight after. Second half they scored, we scored almost straight after but whilst they were singing (in your heaaaaad). Last min winner. Romelle "Who Else" Donovan. Back to a clearer 4-4-2, and having Donovan and Brereton Díaz providing genuine width made the direct game look much more purposeful. The first half was probably the best version yet of the Squeeze Ball: get forward quickly, surround Bamford and attack the box rather than simply lumping it.
