Birmingham2 - 2BarcelonaFirst pre-season game and what a game this was! From the start the Birmingham fans came out to support with a packed house and loud singing. Not much to go one as it’s only a friendly but I have to say we need to fully 100% back Hazma’s development, especially in a market where strikers are dire, but love to see him score 2 today! Another standout player was definitely Tunkara! Having a physical but fast player who can get away in 1v1’s has me very intrigued into the type of player he develops. With our midfield going out with injuries, I wouldn’t be mad to see him on the bench and get senior minutes when the season starts. Another player that stood out in the second half was Roony and the way our attack looked very dangerous for the first 20 minutes. Looked like everyone knew what to do when they passed to Roony with the runs and fake runs, very fun to watch. Then the player that stood out for the wrong reasons was Casado…. Honestly the only player that didn’t look the best on the field, and of course this being a friendly didn’t matter but it’s quite unfortunate to see where his development has gone. After that because Bookd is being dumb with MOMT but Tunkara has my pick! Very fun game!

Not the greatest game but definitely the best since the World Cup break. It’s clear we are missing pretty much everything as it seems like Paintsil, our winger, is being asked to be our everything. Our midfield and defense could not keep up with San Jose’s pressing in the first half and when we did get possession that did not last enough to create chances. Though will say after San Jose’s equalizer, we did look much better, Reus going up to a false 9 helped a bit but like I mentioned earlier we are missing a lot. So eh game, had small moments where we looked good in the second half but in the end we look very weak and not enough players to help.

Absolute butt. The first few minutes in the half we had our chances but after the first goal everything just completely fell apart. Can I say Vanney out? On a positive note, this being my first review, it should only get better from here….right?? I’ll save the analysis for when Barca starts 🫩
