Yeşilyurt Belediyespor3 - 1Gelecek Siirt
this is the weird awkward two day phase of football after international break is over and club football slowly restarts again, so i decided to watch this. this honestly wasn't that much of an entertaining match up until like maybe the last few minutes where siirt pulled one back but then yeşilyurt sealed the deal with the ball unluckily falling back into the goal after siirt's goalkeeper saved it. and practically everyone decided to get injured in this match too, which was kind of crazy to me. aside from that, even though the stadium wasn't really filled, the atmosphere was beautiful. in the stands whenever they showed it in the broadcast, it was full of palestinian flags alongside turkish flags and even the players participated in it by having armbands on in the colors of the country. after doing a little research, i found out both teams had issued a joint call for solidarity with palestine with the slogan "raise your voice for gaza, take your place in the stands". yeşilyurt even urged the citizens of the city malatya (where they're based) to come to the stadium with the tickets being free. that is a very beautiful gesture and shows that things, that are off the pitch are often way more important. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸❤️🕊️

i know i’m late to writing this. i wanted to write it yesterday but i needed a little time to process it. i’ve always hated goodbyes esp with players who’ve been part of my life. if it were up to me, nothing i love would ever end. i started watching football in 2014 without knowing how much i’d fall in love with it. i didn’t think i’d care that much, then there was messi, barça, argentina and i was gone. i remember the 2014 final and how painful it was seeing you lose something you wanted so badly. then in 2022, i got to see you finally win it. i’ll never forget how happy i was for you. you finally got the moment you deserved. i know i didn’t watch every year of your prime and there are moments i wish i could go back and see but i don’t need to have watched every second to know what you mean to me. there’ll never be another player who gives me that feeling. you weren’t just someone i watched play football, you were one of the reasons i fell in love with it. i grew up watching you and now i’m crying over edits, realizing i’ve watched the end of your argentina career. i knew this day would come but that doesn’t make it any easier. no more seeing your name in an argentina lineup, no more waiting to see what only messi can do. i really hate that it’s over. thank you for everything, lionel. for the goals, the memories and all the impossible things you made look normal. i hate that people tried to take that away from you, saying there had to be some explanation for why you were that good instead of just appreciating that they were lucky enough to witness it. none of that changes what you gave football or us. i’ll always remember the player i first watched in 2014 and somehow ended up caring about this much and maybe when the club retirement comes, i’ll be crying again, asking if we can delay it for another 15 years but that’s a problem for another day. for now, thank you. i don’t think i’ll ever be ready to say goodbye but i guess that's what this is.

Lionel Messi, Where do I even begin? I don't think I’ll ever know how to properly put into words what you mean to me. I always knew this day would come, but I’ve been dreading it for so long. For many years, you weren’t just a player for me. You were a part of my childhood and my happiest football moments. You are the reason I fell in love with this game, every touch, every pass, and every goal was mesmerizing to watch. I stood by you when the whole world was agaiant you when everyone mocked you and called you an international failure. I felt your pain but I, always belived in you, and you did what the greatest of all time would do you came back conquered the world, and proved them all wrong. And just how I was there for you, you were silently there for me. During the lowest point of my life, when it got heavy, your matches were my escape. You gave me something to look forward every week a reason to smile, and a reason of hope. I will never forget the happiest day of my life: December 18, 2022, the day you conquered the world, with all the thrill, anxiety, and adrenaline, but most importantly, happiness. And this 2026 World Cup campaign wow, just wow. At 39 years old, you proved once again your undisputed greatness. In my eyes, you were the player of the tournament, no doubt. As a Barcelona fan, before the final, I told myself I would be fine with either team winning, but deep down in my heart, I knew I only wanted you, Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini. But it wasn’t meant to be. As I am sitting here writing this while crying, I’m reminiscing about all the moments, the good and the bad. I just can’t help how much this pains me. I wish you would play forever but thats just not possible. I will never forget you, mi capitán. There will never be anyone that will ever reach your level. Mi ídolo, gracias por todo y más siempre♾️🐐🇦🇷
