Barcelona5 - 2Rayo Vallecano
- Barca dominated the game except for the odd moments where Rayo scored or got a chance out of nowhere, against the run of play - My MOTM is Yamal, unpressable on the ball and created several good chances , not to mention 2 great goals - What a performance from Raphinha at the number 9 spot yet again, with his form it looks like neither Jesus or Abdelkarim will start much this season - I don't know who should start between Fermin and Olmo, they have both been sensational so far (but I do think Fermin edges it because of his g/a output - Xavi Espart looked so solid you'd think he's been in the team for years. He can even play in midfield alongside both flanks, absolute Swiss army knife - What happened to Kounde these last 2 years, he got absolutely burned effortlessly for Rayo's first goal and looked shaky defensively in general. He needs a rest from the past 3 seasons I feel, starting 50 games a season can't be good for long term fitness - Gordon is so unbelievably fast both on and off the ball and brilliant assist for Raphinha's second - Props to Camello, great finishes for both goals, he couldn't have done much more for Rayo today - Our squad depth looks really good this season but my only concern is still CB, especially considering Christensen's recent injury record
Utrecht1 - 6PSV Eindhoven
- Watching Eredivisie for the first time - its so hard to keep track of players when you don't know who half of them are. The severe gap in quality between the two sides was very clear though with Utrecht barely having possession and being wasteful when they do (and partially due to the scoreline as well) - Noah Fernandez, Van Bommel, Sano, and Bouhamdi are ballers - Mauro Jr vs Messi, who had the better freekick today? - Mijnans made up for missing a penalty by scoring a banger
Liverpool2 - 2Nott'm Forest
- Munoz is rapid asf and he can dribble quite well. Most dangerous in Liverpool's underwhelming attack today - Wirtz was super bipolar, going from misplacing 10m passes to spinning in midfield and creating chances out of basically nothing - Jacquet was solid at the back, looks like a good partner for Van Dijk - Nyoni was impressive, he looked confident in possession, dictated the tempo, and was composed under pressure - Liam Delap was actually looking kinda dangerous with his runs and his physicality + the quick throw in leading to the penalty - Isak was very uninvolved and looked sloppy when he was - Szoboszlai was everywhere - Gakpo was decent on the same foot/side wing with some good crosses and runs into the box - McAtee had a great game distributing and keeping the ball in midfield - Ngumoha had some really good dribbles - Liverpool's attack need to click or its gonna be a rough season
