Betis2 - 5Barcelona
5Goalcelona is so back. Lamine yamal, wallahi te amo. One goal and One assist. This guy deserves to be put into Ballon D’or conversations already. However i think that Lamine Yamal should be a little more direct, more assertive, he has the capability to go at the defenders at a much more intense level making him a more scarier and aggressive threat to come up against, and when he does it successfully it’s always good, as we’ve seen today. however some discussions on our defense needs to be made, small mistakes lead up to goals and that can’t be happening especially if we want to make it far into champions league, and even win it. our midfield is so f*cking good honestly we have so much depth, every time pedri takes control of the ball the whole match slows down and completely messes up the flow of the oppositions game, which is what’s so great about pedri. Rodri, i can’t say enough about him that would fully explain what i actually feel. first, i still can’t believe he’s playing for our club, completely sensational. we’ve been chasing and searching for a busquets-esque player for so long ever since he retired and now we finally have him, good thing is the goals aren’t at a deficit either. i fully believe this year can be our year, we can do it, everyone thought our attacking would be at an all time low, but now, look at us, averaging 4 goals a match and almost dominating every match. our most important tests are next, and if we do this we can do anything.

Genuinely I don’t even know what to say. I don’t want to be corny or anything but damn. I’m in denial and I bet this isn’t even going to hit me until a random night. What makes this match worse is the amount of nostalgia I have been feeling these past few weeks, and knowing how much football takes a part of that. I don’t ever think I got formally introduced to Messi. My first major memory of watching football was during the 2014 wc (I did watch before this dw). I still vividly recall watching his matches and how Argentina “took revenge” for Mexico over the Netherlands. Ofc, I also remember watching him lose that final. During and after that wc, Argentina went to become my “backup national team” behind Mexico until 2022 (when they both played in the group stage). Dont even get me started on when he left Barca, I could literally tell u everything about how that day went. Anyways, I could and would write so much more but I just can’t. Sometimes I’ll talk to my younger cousins and it’ll upset me to know that they never saw the prime versions of so many greats, and how they don’t even know who some of them were. It’s sad to know that some people are never going to experience seeing Messi play for Argentina live. Thank you Messi, for being a part of me and my childhood 🫶
