im a bit late because i had to immediately go to bed after the match for w*rk lol, and i wanted to write something a bit more heartfelt than my usual shitposting i will be honest, as insane as i KNOW this is going to sound, messi wasn't someone i grew up admiring beyond "yeah, he's clearly good" lmao. my dad was a semi-pro footballer, so to me at the age before i knew wtf tactics and stats were, my dad was the goat. end of discussion HAHA. i only recently caught on, and if this is killing me i can't imagine how it feels to everyone else! i kinda wish i gave myself more time to appreciate his legacy im also in a weird spot because i'm going to have a life changing surgery soon, and its just another way everything is going to be different. messi playing for argentina was always a constant fact to me and... one day i will wake up. and my life will be different. and messi still won't be playing for argentina. and whatever else changes along the way will be different. its weird to think about lol for the game as well, benin really surprised me. even though they were maybe more relaxed than usual they were clearly still playing and trying which was great to see! but man the whole game felt soo strange... knowing what it meant :') (and on a lighter note, as the #1 julian alvarez glazer i will acknowledge that he had a bit of a stinker today. but its ok i still love him)

watching this masterpiece knowing i have to go back to seeing my local club get battered every week 💔

agony but it was entertaining agony
