Wehen2 - 1Bayernhorrid first half. incredibly mistake prone defence, with the main culprit being ajayi; second place can go to stiube, who looked terrified of receiving the ball and distributing it as well. assomo was a massive highlight, though. great hold-up play and show of physicality; also some really smooth dribbling considering he’s like 192 at 16. binder & cardozo were fun to watch too. overall a mediocre showing from us for the first game of the new season. i’m looking forward towards the things we will achieve with the first team

and so, just like that, it ends. 104 games. staying up until the sun rises to watch our beautiful sport, because we all know these moments would never come back. last minute goals, heartbreak, triumph, relief, pain, and so many other emotions we all went through this past month; watching it with all of you made it all the more special. i don’t think my vocal chords will recover any time soon, but i wouldn’t trade it for anything. and what a world cup this has been. this is not just a game. it’s a language, a bond, a medium we all share. it doesn’t matter where you’re from, we all become united through this game called football. as beautiful as it was, the world cup is always a time to reflect on those who are no longer with us. we all carry the memories of the people who should have been sitting beside us, enjoying this tournament; this belongs to them just as much as it does to us. thank you for sharing your passion with me. now, we can all finally rest.
