Felt fairly bored throughout large parts of this game. Im glad we got to see the Jordan that they we saw two years ago but it sadly wasn’t enough. Algeria definitely was dominant, just couldn’t find the back of the net. They have a serious issue with finishing their chances and they’re not the only one this tournament. Mahrez really doesn’t have it anymore, i get hes a national legend but theres no reason he should start over Hadj Moussa, who is predictable, but also always can bring something to a game. Investigate Zidane though theres absolutely no way hes the son of the legendary Zizou. I was again impressed by Jordan, it obviously wasn’t enough but they gave Algeria a real fight after doing the same against Austria. They definitely are a lower quality team but managed to compete really well, pretty similar to their Asian Cup run in 2024, and that without their star striker. Sad to see them be knocked out already but they can be decently happy with their debut, and hopefully build towards the tournament in 2030. Motm goes to Bensebaini, played a very good game, had 13 defensive contributions as well and played very reliable for Algeria (unlike their goalie).
