It only took three matches under Maresca’s belt, but Man City feel like a cohesive team again. Haaland and Cherki are the standouts, they tore apart a really weak Palace defense. On the opposing side, Wharton is clearly the glue holding Palace together and I don’t know what they would do if they lost him to a richer club. City feel like they’ll use this result to try ane move towards another title charge, even if they’re nowhere near being the favourites this time around with Arsenal and Chelsea moving strongly. Palace have Europa League to look forward too, but their performances domestically so far are causing alarm bells to ring and improvements to their playstyle will be needed or else relegation could become a real threat to them.
