Would this have been a different outcome if Japan’s star players weren’t injured? Imagining mitoma, endo, kubo, and minamino on the pitch for this game is what nippon fans can only dream about. Sad to see ao tanaka just crumble and make the wrong decisions, very humbling and quite frankly rookie mistake. but hey, if anybody here is a (true) Japan fan, nadeshiko is a much better team to root for. If anything, this World Cup has shown that the men are finally attempting to catch up to nadeshiko’s style of football. POTM to Zion Suzuki.
