Best game of the day by far. A game i was very excited about as they both had never won a game before and had like a combined amount of two goals i think. Proper World Cup game that. Game started with a absolute banger from the goat Eldor Shomurodov, quickly followed by a great DR Congo goal but was disallowed for a foul in the lead up, i say bullshit though that was quite light. DR Congo absolutely dominated all game though and deservedly won this, over 2 xg more created than Uzbekistan. Lovely second goal as well by Wissa, such a good shot. Likely playing England next and honestly after seeing England earlier I wouldn’t be completely shocked if they make something happen lmao. I like Uzbekistan but this was not a great showing from them, replacing their successful manager with Cannavaro was a big mistake imo. Defensively they were always impressive but during this tournament it was utterly disastrous. I hope they can qualify again next time and get a better tournament, with Khusanov they have a incredible player at least. Man of the match Wissa, won the penalty, scored a brace, had most shots as well i think. Just a good performance. Glad hes found his form because he was missing at Newcastle, granted struggling with a injury.
