champions league back baby 😄 starting with donnarumma, he wasn’t tested at all with any shots i think the couple of saves he made ended up offside, seemed reasonably comfortable coming out to claim the ball when called upon to recover it. distribution wasn’t awful overall however there was just a nervy sort of feeling when he got on the ball including a time he played it straight out of play under little to no pressure. just seemed to be a little shaky overall with the ball at his feet, and possibly seemed to be one or two times that his backline didn’t feel comfortable playing back towards him. not much else to talk about for him specifically as first mentioned didn’t come under anything much of note during the game, quiet game for a keeper. going over to diogo costa on the other hand i am extremely impressed to say the least. 2 goals conceded however continues to make a case as to why he can be one of the best on a big stage, and continues to remind everyone the talent he possesses. his shot stopping was nothing short of world class, from his reflexes to get to shots quickly, his positioning to make saves look easy and make them comfortable for him, as well as his ability to consistently parry the ball out of danger if he can’t keep a hold of it. wasn’t able to come and claim any crosses however comfortably recovered the ball at various points during the game to regain possession for his side as well as doing a good job at making himself big and intimidating when coming out to close attackers down. i was also especially impressed with the calmness and composure he showed with the ball at his feet all throughout the game, and how easy he made it look against a team with the quality city possess. always seemed to make the right decision with his passing, whether it be picking the open teammate by going short under pressure, or looking positively to pick a team out with a long ball, it was a complete performance and he continues to show he has the full package.
