A little disappointed this was the main watch of the evening for me, but it was also very expected and i knew what i was getting in to. Allegriball is not for the weak, and today was a great example of just how awful it is. The lowblock worked for a while, but it ultimately got exposed by Arsenal, which was also to be expected due to their form this season so far. Even just looking at stats its quite incredible, 5 shots against 20. The ever so unreliable ‘prediction’ stat of xG being 0.22 against 4.05. All in all just a poor showing offensively from Napoli, Højlund gets no service so while Napoli structurally look good they eventually get broken down while not being able to bring anything in the attack. For me Ødegaard is clear man of the match, after a season of struggle last year with mostly injuries he has really picked it up and looks like one of the best midfielders in the world easily.
