So i dont think its the worst game of the tournament, but it sure is up there. Belgium had enough chances but couldn’t finish any of them. Dont even think you can put that entirely on the Belgian team Alireza Beiranvand was absolutely incredible. Yet another goalie with a match winning performance. De Bruyne isn’t it anymore, he barely moves and is unable to create anything. Its kinda sad because i have so many fond memories of watching him play. Iran defended very well, but they also let Belgium slip through enough but thats inevitable when you play a better side. They had a couple of chances especially after the red for Belgium. The ultimate solution to this game for Belgium would’ve been Mika Godts, because a player with actual individual quality who isn’t selfish either they wouldve had 2 goals minimum. Its so crazy that he wasnt even called up, now they had a game without Doku and you clearly see they dont have any individual quality anymore. Its not even my bias i have with him they really just needed a player like him but instead of Saelemaekers who only gets 6 g/a for AC Milan.
