Sad Bat Notes and Review: no flexibility in our shape tonight. the wave was marking gotham so close that any ball in need of settling became a chance for a turnover. nobody was ready to step out of their lane and give support to players receiving the ball off of a long pass, leaving them vulnerable to a swarm of nearby wave players. shaw… what is up with the lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball ?? we don’t have to stop running if a pass is played to us but doesn’t make it there. she is great in front of the net but gotham’s high-pressing play means that everyone needs to put their weight in defensively, even deep in the attacking half. jca… subs at half time. please. our substitute lineup looked so much stronger than our starting. i understand you want to give feedback to fix first half flaws but sometimes things clearly aren’t going as expected and could use more disruption earlier on. 1/3
