Not going too insane with this review, not really sure what ill do during club season yet with reviews anyway lmao. I think a pretty decent game, not sure if it was worth staying up for as i have to wake up in like 4 hours or so. But i like Gotham so thats the only reason why i did lmao. Pretty close game and enough chances for both sides so unfortunate Gotham couldn’t get out of it more and lost 2-0. Absolute screamer though from Melanie Barcenas, insane goal. Only 18 years as well so thats crazy. San Diego generally has some good young players in the lineup though, really nice to see. Also why does fotmob absolutely suck with positions here? Lavelle was listed as right back, Sonnet as attacking mid, Carter as center back. So annoying. Motm Dali, was quite literally everywhere.

wave didn’t miss a beat after international break! right off the bat they kept on swinging and dali was dictating the rhythm of the game. gotham look out of sorts which I feel is kinda routine for them after some kind of break if it lasts for more than 2 weeks, but I’m sure they will find their stride again within the next couple games. Props to barcenas for that golazo and classic celly.

Meh. Average Nwsl match. Berger is a high risk keeper and tonight especially on the second goal she paid for it. Wesley…. What a freaking player man. Brazilians are going to see her in their nightmares. Not a wave fan but I lowkey gotta Stan.

Sad Bat Notes and Review: no flexibility in our shape tonight. the wave was marking gotham so close that any ball in need of settling became a chance for a turnover. nobody was ready to step out of their lane and give support to players receiving the ball off of a long pass, leaving them vulnerable to a swarm of nearby wave players. shaw… what is up with the lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball ?? we don’t have to stop running if a pass is played to us but doesn’t make it there. she is great in front of the net but gotham’s high-pressing play means that everyone needs to put their weight in defensively, even deep in the attacking half. jca… subs at half time. please. our substitute lineup looked so much stronger than our starting. i understand you want to give feedback to fix first half flaws but sometimes things clearly aren’t going as expected and could use more disruption earlier on. 1/3

Yeah this was a game. Kenza Dali was moving like prime Kanté. What a performance. And yeah that second goal was 100% on AKB. This is one thing in her game Chelsea women fans do not miss.
