Unsuccessful hatewatch, still gotta rate it properly though. I don’t really know where this all came from, i know Uzbekistan are usually very good defensively but they absolutely threw it away here. I suppose it has to do with Cannavaro replacing their previous manager despite him qualifying Uzbekistan for the world cup. He pretty much plays the same way but i think for the players its also strange to kick the manager out who was successful for a Serie B reject, like hes not even asked to manage clubs anymore in the second italian division lmao (Italian football fact). Ronaldo with two goals but i will decide to say nothing about it because i have very strong opinions towards him and i do not respect him as a person. My morals cant accept it. I am interested to see how Martinez will make this Portugal team play for the upcoming games, definitely could lead to issues when they play a bigger side. They played pretty good this game but end of the day its still ‘only’ Uzbekistan and you have to take it with a grain of salt. Nuno Mendes played better than lest game as well, midfield felt a lot better in general which helped the whole team. Ill give MOTM to Mendes mostly because i dont want to give it to Ronaldo for personal reasons, and besides those two goals he didnt really do much of worth at all.

Proved most of us wrong with a brace. Don't like the man but I respect the footballer. Thought Uzbekistan would've bought more of a fight out the blocks, apart from scoring a screamer that was ruled out, they really just laid down and took the loss. Disappointed in them considering I predicted them to get out the group 😭

My favourite goal in the match was scored by Uzbekistan and was disallowed. Raphael Leao scored a goal that places as a close second. I do not like Cristiano Ronaldo and yet I cannot doubt his finishing abilities. His miss at the end of the match does work as an effective counterpoint to this, however. This is not the first time this Tournament that I have seen a team win by a significant margin and wondered how. Uzbekistan did not deserve to win this match but the score does not remotely flatter them. I hope everyone is successfully tolerating the heat and I hope everyone takes care to stay hydrated these coming days. The next match is England. I hope our team delivers a sucessful performance.
