Holy shit what the fuck just happened. As an Argentinian I can give a review that others wonโt be able to, and oh my god this was so stressful. I was scared going into this match but I thought we would be able to pull through comfortablyโฆ but boy was I wrong. First half was boring but we dominated and Messiโs goal for the 8th World Cup game in a row made it look like we were going to get our easy win, but a second half goal out of nowhere turned the tides. That goal really made me realise the problems with this team. I had been seeing it in the group but I thought that would change in the knockouts, but we are relying way to heavily on Leo. The rest of this team is extremely sluggish and the midfield moves the ball so slowly. Mac and Enzo are very poor and Lautaro, Almada and Gonzalez are absolutely abysmal in attack. They havenโt been stepping up at all, and in a game where Messi was being contained their weaknesses are really showing. But thankfully Lisandro scored a banger in extra time to surely allow us to settle for the win, but then the goal of the tournament just got launched in out of fucking nowhere and we were in panic mode again. But alas an unfortunate own goal from a Messi corner proved to be the winner and an intense game that nobody saw coming.Gott I feel really bad for Cape Verde and Iโm very sad we had to face them because they could have gone far if they played almost anybody else, but hey this is football. Their structure is so solid I really am shocked at how good they are, Vozinha absolutely insane this match aswell. We were very very sloppy today and only two players performed very well: Licha and Dibu. Dibu once again proving to be one of the best keepers in the world with his vital saves, and wow what a game Lisandro had. Most will give Vozinha the motm for the sympathy but realistically Lisandro was the best player on the pitch and came out on the winning side. But yea, long review, I hope we fix our problems for Egypt and later games!

Also only watched the first half, so I missed out on Messi becoming the first player in history to score in 7 consecutive World Cup games, bummer. But atleast the first half was pretty good, Lo Celso scored a banger and Martinez scored a pen so yea weโre through with a pretty easy run to the semis.

First half was good, all we needed was some goals in the second for it to be a great gameโฆ but they never came. Portugal barely created anything and Colombia missed countless chances with some good saves from Costa. Unfortunate because this game had a lot of hype but ended up being quite lacklustre Another Ronaldo stinker but he payed the refs for that offside cus ainโt no way my goat Davidson Sanchez was off there.

WHAT A GAME.... WOW Cape Verde proved those that said 48 teams was a mistake completely wrong. They were an absolute joy. Playing out from the back better than some Premier League teams, phenomenal. They deserved so much more, I have no words that they lost this game. Vozinha was unbelievable, again. Every single one of those Cape Verde players should be unbelievably proud. The fans should be inspired, younger generations will look at this and think "I can become a footballer at the top level". I tip my hat off too them for pushing the WORLD CHAMPIONS to their max. That second goal was a thing of beauty, one of the best goals I have seen at this stage. Even more special from the country who scored it. I thought Argentina were poor, they heavily relied on a Messi masterclass. Yes, they had a lot of chances and Vozinha was great, but that's football. You don't always deserve the win for being dominant, especially considering the gap in quality between both squads. But that quality pushed them over the line in the end, so fair play to them for not fully crumbling under the pressure. Wow, I will remember this game for the rest of my life, genuinely unbelievable. Well done to Cape Verde for being a true joy to watch. Congratulations to Argentina for pushing over the line.

Fuck Ryan Mendes first of all, get some fucking consent first you idiot. Fairly slow game the first half, as expected a defensive Cabo Verde, couple of chances for Argentina but they needed a absolute beauty of a pass from Martinez (made in Amsterdam) and a even better finish from Lionel Messi to score the 1-0, what a first touch and what a goal, insane. Second half Argentina played way too slow, Cabo Verde got more into the game with some chances, but actually scoring the 1-1 is a beautiful moment for the country. Scored by someone born in Netherlands. Vozinha was again insane, few incredible saves. Incredible how this went to extra time, its Cabo Verde their whole identity or something. Lisandro Martinez scoring a quick goal which was perfectly placed, i love that man. But Cabo Verde, specifically Sidny Lopes Cabral, born in Rotterdam as well, scoring potentially the best goal of the tournament and him just running into the stands, standing there for awhile just not knowing what to do, and eventually getting hugged by his girlfriend, is maybe the most beautiful moment of the tournament for me, love that they didnt cut away from that. Thats just special. Is it Argentina if they dont still score the winner? Unfortunate goal to concede since it also deflected of a handball from a defender. Argentina were weird though, just so slow this game and every time when they got a lead they just stopped bothering to do more, they have enough quality to keep going. Huge respect for Cabo Verde though, they gave it their absolute everything. Messi is the first player to score 7+ goals in two editions of the Mens World Cup, first player to score 20 WC goals, he also now has 13 goal contributions in knockout games, surpassing both Pelรฉ and Mbappรฉ who have 11. Also 12 goals in the last 8 WC games. And also the first player to score in 5 straight knockout games. Man of the match Lisandro Martinez, he was great all game honestly and a incredible assist + a good goal.

Small Island with Big Dreams ๐ฆ Cape Verde every game surprises us more and more honestly and someone please check if Vozinha is actually 40 or no ! No way their defense and entire squad gave everyone a hard time while having current best players on the planet . I genuinely couldnโt believe it, because I donโt know Argentina are bad or Cape Verde are so good that they make other teams look average . This match going to extra time is the last thing I expected, honestly Cape Verde showed the world what playing with your soul for the badge could do and where it can take you. Today, we almost witnessed arguably the biggest upset in world cup history. Cape Verde defend but they defend to do something, and when they attack, they sting where it hurts most which is even more impressive, I am still shocked. The only things that was expected and it happened it is that Argentina won at the end, but they needed to give 200% to win. So happy for Messi, yet so sad for Cape Verde, their passion and unexpected performance will truly be missed and forever remembered. Cape Verde were the secret sauce to this tournament, they were the team that showed big nationโs weaknesses, they were the reason that big nations changed a lot of things. The emotions during this match were all over the place, it was something special and cannot be described what so ever, only people watched the game will ever understand. Cape Verde, welcome to history and you can leave with your heads up.. ๐ฆ๐ท๐จ๐ป
