a miracle happened today. ecuador came into this tournament as dark horses but ended up disappointing their supporters. they pulled off the impossible. that's why we love this beautiful game. football never stops reminding us that anything can happen.

Germany didn't really get out of second gear all match and that was their ultimate downfall today. They started bright, but let Ecuador back into the game. Completely avoidable from a German perspective. Fair play to Ecuador for showing real fight. Their equaliser was a super strike and they played in good spells which gave them the winning goal. This means they secure a 3rd place qualification with 4 points, I wrote them off to get grouped so well done Ecuador!
