Tell me, would you expect this image for “World Cup 2026 hat trick scorers”?

Germany1–1Paraguay

Gustavo Caballero, When you joined Portsmouth on Feb 2 2026, the final day of the transfer window, we were in a position of utter crisis. 20th in the Championship and in serious danger of relegation. You traded playing with boyhood Santos fan Neymar to playing with boyhood Portsmouth fan Marlon Pack. 19 days after you joined, you scored your one and only goal for us, an incredible run to steal the ball and score it from an outrageously tricky angle in a 3-1 win against Millwall, a side who defeated us thrice the previous season. You fit in perfectly with the boys as a character who gave 500% every second of every game, travelling with the boys away even when you were injured and going to war for the badge every week. We don't often get the privilege of seeing our players go to the world cup. Our last player to was Joe Morrell for Wales in 2022, who has now sadly retired at the age of 29, last playing after just turning 27 due to an injury he suffered in January 2024 during our promotion season. But here you are. Coming on for Paraguay in the knockouts against the giants of Germany and putting up a fight til the end against some of the world's biggest stars like Musiala… and Leon Goretzka. You looked like you belonged on a pitch battling players of Germany's calibre week in, week out; showing the same fight you did every time for Portsmouth. I am so proud for you, for Paraguay and for my city. Little old Portsmouth at the world cup, and young, relatively unknown Gustavo Caballero representing them. Let me tell you, they'll know your name now after today's performance. It seems likely your time with us has now come to an end, but I won't forget what you gave for us to remain in the championship for another year, where we finally look to be making moves to stay on the up. You were part of a team that saved us. Just as my family name lives on the walls of Fratton Park, your legacy will forever lay on our pitch. Thank you for everything, Gustavo Caballero.

First id like to say fuck Ronaldo, 2009 will not be forgotten. I would also like to say that as I’m known for my tactical analysis that Roberto Martínez is a fraud and should give his coaching licenses to me because i genuinely think i would make a better manager than him. I think the first half wasnt as bad as many people said. To me it was okay, ive seen muuuuch worse and there were some exciting moments. Cristiano Ronaldo played disappointingly as expected, but theres something beautiful yet weird about watching one of the greatest of all time to be this washed, i dont quite know how to explain that feeling because i also just really dislike him as a human so maybe that impacts some of it. He had zero touches in the box throughout the first half which for him is just disastrous, long gone are the days of him being the best in the world. Vitinha has been very disappointing too, just plays very safe but its also necessary because if he risks things than the attack will not be able to do anything useful as they are awful lmao. A super defensive Croatia too, not too many attacks from their side which was disappointing to see. Second half started incredible honestly, immediately some chances and who else than 37 year old Ivan Perišić scoring the opener. Most goals on World Cups now for Croatia. Almost a insane equalizer from Rafael Leão right after, im a huge hater so seeing how he hit that woodwork made me a bit nervous lmao. What a hit though. Ronaldo finally scoring a knockout goal! But it was offside, brilliant goal if he timed that run better. He got his knockout goal anyway though, not the best pen he has taken but it went in anyway. 100% pen too, no way around it. With that he becomes the oldest goalscorer in World Cup knockouts at 41 years and 147 days. Another fun fact i saw was two of the 7 oldest goalscorers scoring within 15 minutes of each other. Also as many international tournament goals as Ronaldo Nazario now with 25. More in comments

I ate miniature cookies dipped in chocolate! It was very yummy! In other news unfortunately #7 has hit the notification feed.

USA2–0Bosnia & Herzegovina
Bad match, bosnia looked poor, awful goalkeeping on that second clean sheet, US is a cringe nation in its entirety, honestly nothing good at all to say about this match. @ernad in an attempt to cheer you up I have attatched a photo of miscellaneous snacks that I was given by my local bosnian mosque on Eid, along with some more cat videos as they have been getting positive reviews as of late.
