Honestly was not expecting much from today since we played on Sunday and you could see how many of our players were tired so in the end I am okay with this result. This was definitely our hardest opponent in the league phase and considering Lyon has insane form atm, scoring on average 7.5 goals per match, it could've been much much worse. At least we are the first team to make them lose points this season so one thing to be happy about. A strong shift from Buurman and Hampton today. Wish Sonia did more changes though, could've benefited from having Sandy or Dragoni on the pitch but eh, no point in talking about it now. So proud of all of the girls and I hope they get their well deserved rest now. UTC 💙

i’ve seen some poor refereeing performances in my time but this was genuinely something else. i’m not even angry, i’m just fascinated. can someone please explain the rules of football to me because clearly they’ve changed since the last time i’ve watched a game. marta huerta de aza, you are on some very serious fraudwatch. you rejected a penalty for us not once but twice, with the first one being ruled out because of an “offside” beforehand, yet you still gave the lyon defender a yellow for the foul that would’ve been a pen. every decision feels like it’s being made by someone who has never actually watched a game of football before. i’m genuinely starting to question whether there is a rulebook or if we’ve all just been making this up as we go along. a point against lyon is obviously more than great, but we absolutely deserved to come away with the win here. HM: our entire back three (buurman in particular), hampton and lily yohannes
