This game was so magnificent to watch in the first half. Jude Bellingham undisputed best midfielder during this World Cup. 2 goals in 2 minutes during a Knock Out game is something that can’t even be comprehended. FROM A MIDFIELDER. Amazing. Mexico was genuinely playing well during the first half and I was totally rooting for them, that red card on England should have been their saving grace. But anyways, Mexico playing with 10 players and still couldn’t win is crazy, but what do you expect when England is playing with 9 players in the box and Mexico can’t do anything but aimlessly cross back and forth…after half time this game got really boring to watch, but wow that first half. I don’t blame anyone but the Mexico coach for bottling that very obvious win that could have been.

This is the best football game I have EVER watched and 4 years later my opinion still stands. From minute 1-120 this game was absolute art. Dibu. Wow. Di Maria. Messi. MBAPPE. That 119’ minute save from Dibu is etched in my brain forever. That whole match is something I think about at LEAST once a week. I have watched it maybe 3 times like it’s my favorite film. You have no idea. Prayers for whoever missed this game. Messi winning his first World Cup, Mbappe’s comeback for France that gave everyone a heart attack but showed why he is so legendary. The most excruciatingly anxiety-inducing Penalty Showout ever. You truly can’t write something this beautiful. I will show this game to my kids I’m not even joking.
FranceSpain1 - 0ArgentinaEnzo Fernandez getting a red card made this a 5-star match for me. Paredes too even though it happened after the final whistle. Absolutely disgusting behavior and Tagliafico got away without a red card that should have been called for the way he tried to STEP on Lamine Yamal’s calf and ankle. Dibu was the only player who decided to show up for Argentina and he saved them from a 5-0 humiliation. That Nico goal was 100% a goal and you can’t tell me otherwise. Spains absolute masterclass midfield and defensive wall I cannot praise enough, but can we talk about Pedri for a minute? He’s been having a worse than mediocre World Cup for sure, but the second he stepped onto the pitch at 60’ you could just witness his magic. Instantly changed the game for better, opened more chances than anyone else. I better never see that Pedri isn’t a “big game player” because that’s absolute nonsense. No one deserves more praise rn than Cubarsi and Ferran Torres. Wow, Cubarsi will become a Spanish legend no doubt. And he’s only 19. Ferran, my goat. After praying for his goal to be counted against Saudi Arabia, this is genuinely the most beautiful ending. I hope this gives him the confidence he needed because that was the most important goal in Spains recent history. Never seen a team more deserving of a World Cup after bossing through the toughest opponents without a star striker, referee favoritism, and only ONE goal scored against them.

Against a team that notoriously has had renowned comebacks after the 70th minute?? This game was so embarrassing to watch as someone who was rooting for England as all of their hard-earned work went down the drain from a stupid tactical decision. I was watching Enzo Fernandez attempt 6 shots from the same position, SURELY one of them would have gone in. Shameful performance from England and hence why England won’t win the World Cup.
France0 - 2SpainSpain absolute masterclass. Underrated high IQ moment from Lamine Yamal to win the penalty. Cubarsi is the reason Spain won this game and I stand by that. Unai Simon may have spiked my heart rate but he is an absolute GENIUS with those out of the box moves. Not that I needed much convincing, but this game confirmed that Spain is the best national team in the world.
