Cameroon’s keeper was fantastic and the one goal scored was brilliant. It’s also very exciting that this match means whoever wins this wafcon will be a first time winner
Mali W1 - 1Ghana Wghana deserved the win but mali did play well esp in the second half. i would say my fav player of the match was aissatou liberge, mali’s keeper for most of the match after being subbed on during the first half

I think Malawi are my fav team at this wafcon, both of the matches I’ve seen them play in have been so entertaining and this match especially had me so on edge, probably because both sides were playing so well. Reaching the quarter finals in their first ever wafcon is really impressive and I’m really pleased for them even though it was a shame to see them lose this match lol and it was a shame Zambia couldn’t go through as they were fantastic too. Also I’m kind of obsessed with the Chaŵinga sisters

Kenya W0 - 2Algeria WFair play to Kenya they improved after conceding those two goals. Unfortunately for them though Algeria still were better. N’gazi was great in goal
Algeria WNigeria W2 - 3Malawi Wmy fav wafcon 2026 match so far!! found out while watching that this is malawi’s first time even qualifying so to see them beat nigeria in their first match, nigeria not only being the defending champions but ten-time champions, was really impressive. very entertaining match, really enjoyed

didn’t manage to catch all of it but thoroughly enjoyed what i did catch. barbra banda, what a player!! also thought phiri’s goal was really good!

my first time watching wafcon!!! very excited!!! côte d’ivoire were definitely the better team but burkina faso improved in the second half imo and put up a better fight than they had been

one of my absolute favourite matches of this world cup. every minute I watched was so exciting and I just loved watching cabo verde, in their first ever world cup, push the defending champions into extra time. i won’t ever forget lying in bed at 1am and watching sidny cabral score that fantastic second goal for cabo verde. that alone made him my favourite player of the match, and I’m very glad it went on to officially be named best goal of the tournament. vozinha was also really really good in this match

Spain0 - 0Cape Verde Islandsthis was the least bored I’ve ever been by a goalless draw and probably the match that reminded me how much i love football. i was obsessed with vozinha in this match & the amount of saves he made, and i was behind cabo verde for all the rest of their time in the tournament. hope to see them in the tournament again next time
Cape Verde IslandsSpain1 - 0Argentinayeah a match that’s goalless until the 2nd half of extra time does get a bit boring but icl i really enjoy watching this spain team play. they’ve been fantastic at this tournament. i was also really hoping to see simón win the golden glove lol so i got my wish. also the first world cup to be won by people born in the same year as me which feels a bit surreal lol. thank you cubarsi and yamal for representing 2007🙏. this world cup was such a fun journey and while i already miss always having a match to put on the tv if im bored in the evening, i know there are more to come because this sport is universal and it never stops being enjoyed ❤️
